Fagan Family Update 2012

Thanks for checking up on us... We appreciate your continued love and support! Starting with oldest to youngest.

Jacqualine FINALLY turned 16 on December 3rd and had her first date that week... The girls and I were so excited... What should she wear, what color looks best, etc etc? Kayla (next in line) kept saying, "This is just weird, my sisters going on a date". Anyway, when the nice young man came to the door, of course the whole family had to come. I tried to make the young man feel at ease while Will stood there acting like "A Tough Dad".. He was nervous and yes I mean Will. Will asked us to leave the room so he could talk to this young man... OH BOY!!! I only gave Will a few seconds to be alone because I felt so sorry for him... After they left, I asked Will what he said, "I told him that I would not let Jacqualine go with him if I did not trust him and I loved my daughter more than you can imagine and please show her a nice time, Oh and have her home before midnight." Isn't that SWEET! I don't know if Jacqualine will ever get asked out on a date again if the guys know they will be interviewed.... Anyway Jacqualine is still involved with volleyball and basketball at Coeur d' Alene High School and is taking very hard classes. We appreciate her wonderful example in our home.

Kayla is almost 14 and cant wait to get OUT of middle school so she can go to High School with her sister. I love the relationship that Jacqualine and Kayla have... They are complete opposites and balance each other out very nicely. Kayla is still playing soccer and basketball at a very competitive level and manages to keep her A's straight. Kayla is obsessed with BYU basketball and will be going to the BYU vs Gonzaga game along with Jacqualine and Karsten the end of January. Kayla and Jacqualine were able to go to a BYU basketball camp last summer and they saw Brandon Davies. He signed her t-shirt and now she will not let me wash it.

Karsten is 10 (CAN YOU BELIEVE IT) and had NO SURGERIES this year!!! I think... Maybe 44 is his max. He is doing so well with eating and sleeping better now that he is on CPAP. He loves going to Cancer Camp every summer and would go to school all year round and possibly even sleep there if he could. We would like to Thank ALL the Dalton Elementary staff for making our boy so happy. Karsten is not in the classroom that much any more because his brain is just tired. They are working a lot on life skills at school.. He helps the Janitor, Secretary, Lunch Ladies and Teachers. Diane his aid, even had a desk made for him that has his name on it and put it in his own "Office" with an in and out box for jobs..

Jaynie turned 7 in October and should probably just skip first grade and go into third or fourth. She has a wonderful teacher that keeps her going. First grade has been an adjustment for her... She is a "home body" and much rather be at my side working on some sort of project. She is involved in piano and dance and even did a little soccer last spring and wants to try basketball this winter. I think she just might follow her Mom's foot steps and dance and hopefully continue playing the piano which she LOVES! Jaynie is very sensitive to others needs and always has a prayer in her heart.

Justin is our little SAS A FRASS three year old. He definitely makes up for ALL the boy things that Karsten was not able to experience and more... Cars, baseball with Dad, Super hero's, CRASH BOOM BANG!!! He is soooo much fun and sooooo SPOILED!The girls have even taught him lines from the movie Nacho Libre which he has known to act them out while mom and dad are not watching. He is doing preschool this year, THANK HEAVENS!!!

Well remember that dog I mentioned last year??? We still have her unfortunately.... Every time we think she might have run away :) she comes back.. We have to keep a very close eye on her because she LOVES people and the neighbors chickens. I don't think Will and I have EVER been so angry before with owning a dog but yet we still buy her the best dog food... I don't get it... We do it for the kids.

Will and I had the opportunity to take in an 11 year girl, as a foster daughter, into our home for six months. She came from a very horrible situation that required alot of our attention and love. Our family learned a lot about giving and receiving. I have to admit it was very tough at times but I know the Lord wanted her in our home.

Will is teaching early morning seminary and doesn't understand why its not like teaching Gospel Doctrine to Adults..... Well honey, its EARLY MORNING SEMINARY.. He is a wonderful teacher and the kids love him. He is on his last year with coaching Kayla's AAU basketball team until the next kid anyways. He and his partner Dr. Rob Johnson are working on building their practices into something more. Hopefully we will have more news for you next year.

As for me, I need another vacation with my husband and that ain't going to happen for awhile. Maybe a massage every day of the week and a maid three times a week... OH and a cook 6 days a week. No really, I wouldn't want to be any where else but here, at home, taking care of my family... I forgot to mention a tummy tuck too would be nice.

We are thankful for our Saviors love and for the every day miracles that happen in our life. May LOVE and PEACE abide in your home. Merry Christmas to all of our dear friends and family.

Welcome and Happy Holidays!

We are so glad you are tuning into the Fagan yearly update! I will try to make this short and sweet; I know how busy we all are this time of year. Lets start from oldest to youngest this time.

Will is turning 40 on the 16th. He hates his gray hair. He is enjoying being the Gospel Doctrine teacher and still manages to coach basketball, keep up with his eye practices and on the State Optometry board. Ocassionally he plays basketball with the guys and shows off his "game." Will needs a vacation with his wife, somewhere tropical.

Angie is NOT turning 40 until next year... Life in the car is great and has learned to find quiet time while waiting for kids to get done with practices. She just loves that she has a kid in Highschool, one in Jr. High, one in grade school, one in kindergarten and one at home. She is grateful for such good kids and a supporting husband and can't wait until Jacqualne has her license, this spring, to help with the errands.

Jacqualine is 15 and cant wait for the BIG 16.. Dont ask me why!! She played freshman volleyball for Coeur d' Alene High and is now playing freshman basketball. She loves seminary and being involved with her school and can't wait to have her own car... In her dreams!! Dad is not liking the attention she is getting from boyssss right now :-)

Kayla will be 13 in January. She has told me that she doesn't want to wear makeup, just give her a plate of bacon and she is fine. She is still very involved with soccer and basketball. She would much rather watch a game on TV then watch the Disney Channel any day. We took her to a BYU girls soccer game when they played Gonzaga and she was in heaven. Of course BYU won!!

Karsten will be 10 in March. He had his 43rd surgery last September. It was kind of a battle there for a couple months with three surgeries back to back, but of course he was our superman once again. After one of his surgeries (that was is in the head) he went home the next day and walked the survivor lap for Relay for Life. I don't know anyone stronger then this kid. He is doing great and is actually able to eat alot more by mouth. Hip Hip Hooray!!!

Jaynie just turned 6. She is smarter than a whip!! She loves Kindergarten and loves to read and write. She is still doing dance and loving that too; you should see this girl play Just Dance on the Wii, she has moves just like her mother :-). Jaynie is a very sweet girl and always writing notes to the family on how much she loves us. Jaynie wants to potty train Justin and I say "GO FOR IT GIRL!"

Justin will be 3 in March and speaks like a young adult. He was laying in bed with his mommy and dad came in to get ready for bed. As dad was taking his clothes off Justin said, "Well this is awkward." He is so much fun! He learned to water ski this past summer and was on the front page of the Coeur d' Alene press. Mom and Dad were so proud.

Bella was born in June. We always wanted 6 kids, so we got a DOG! The little ones love her and the older ones are wondering why in the world we got her. The only advantage of having a dog this time of year, is that their poop freezes and it is easier to pick up with the pooper scooper. Bella is currently in dog school trying to learn to be obedient. If she fails her course we will be glad to sale her for $3000.00 plus (that's about how much money we have put into her at the current moment plus damages) The puppy stage is pretty rough especially when you see the damage she has done to the outside of the house because of wanting to chew on something and digging up our brand new trees because she is bored. RRRRRRR!!

It has been a year already!!! The Fagans love this time of year, because we get to hear from people that we haven't heard from in awhile. We hope all is well with each one of you. Let me give you a quick "news flash" from youngest to oldest.

Justin is 1!!! He is so much fun. He was definitely meant to come to our family. He loves anything to do with a ball and Dad is pretty proud. One of his nicknames is midgie because he is pretty small; Daddy hopes he out grows that!!

Jaynie is 5 and thinks its pretty cool that she has outgrown her shoes and clothes. She loves her dance class and loves to go to preschool. She still has quite the imagination.. She loves to make Karsten dress up with her and dance around the house as the King and Queen. With lots of bribing, Jaynie learned to waterski this past summer. She is FINALLY sweet!!

Karsten "KNOCK ON WOOD" is doing GREAT! No tumor growth in over a year. They are going to start him back up on the growth hormone. He hasn't grown in over a year and Jaynie is now the same size as him. Karsten was baptized last March and was so happy for that day to come... We didn't know if that day would ever come for him. He LOVES school and still doesn't understand why he cant go on Saturdays. The kids at Dalton Elementary treat him so good. A group of boys came and asked him to come play football at recess. His Aide, Diane was very nervous about that, but as she watched, the boys were very careful with him and let him run down the field with the ball. It brought tears to our eyes. Karsten also learned to waterski this past summer. We were all a little nervous but he did it and I dont think he wants to do it again. He has had several play dates with young girls in his class and was even asked to go to the movies with 3 girls. He is quite the ladies man. Miracles continue to come into play with our superman. Thanks for all your love, prayers and support.

Kayla is now in 6th grade and first year at the middle school. She is still very involved with soccer and basketball and has tremendous talent. For being so tiny she can have a very competitive mean streak to her at times. She comes by that quite naturally and we love to see it. She cant wait to turn 12 because she can get out of primary and be in young women's. Kayla has been blessed with a great group of friends that make her so happy and fun to be around.

Jacqualine just turned 14!!! Dad is freakin out because now she can attend Stake Dances and dance with boys. Mom is excited and wants to go buy her an outfit and teach her how to dance. This is Jacqualines last year at the middle school and then she will be home taught and will never be allowed to go out of the house again.. High School YIKES!! She will do great. She too has been blessed with wonderful friends and loves to play basketball (her first choice) and volleyball.

Will and I are doing great also. We trained for a half marathon this past year and actually finished before ou

r time was up. Will is still serving in the bishopric and coaching basketball. As for me I sit around on my booty all day and eat bon bons and watch my behind spread. Really, there is never a dull moment in the Fagan home. We have been very blessed. We hope you all find joy and peace this time of year. Please drop us a line sometime. For all those tuning in to Karsten's website, you have touched our life in some way or another... THANK YOU! Your friendship and love, especially during these past few months means so much to our family.

Well here is the yearly update on the Fagan Fam!

I will start with Karsten this year because of the continued miracles that happen with our Super Man. It has been a rough year with our son. In January he had a shunt malfunction and added 2 more surgeries to his career which is now at a record high of 40. This last September after a routine MRI, they found that after five years of being in remission his tumor is growing once again. Karsten's surgeon has said there is nothing else that can be done because of its location, and chemo and radiation are no longer an option. After much prayer and fasting, Will and I are at peace and know that it is in the Lord's hands. The good news is that Karsten is doing remarkably well. HE loves school and ALL his girl friends (aging from 7 to however old you are, Sue) Most importantly he is happy and healthy at this time. Another MRI was done before Thanks giving and they found that the tumor was unchanged. His Doctor said and I quote "It is so unlike these tumors to just sit there" and I said, "So another miracle has happened" and the Doctor said "Yes". The next MRI is in March, the month of Karstens Birthday. The other miracle that I wish to tell you about is that we were surprised to hear our door bell ring one evening and there sat a box with balloons and stuffed Mickey Mouse. Will and the kids went looking to see who dropped off the surprise, to no avail. Inside the box was a certificate for a 5 night stay at The Disneyland Resort, Park passes, meal plan (eating with the characters), round trip air fare and money to spend on souvenirs, etc. We could not believe what just taken place and we screamed for joy and cried for 2 hours as a family that night. Oh, I just get choked up every time I think about it. We know that our Dear friend Heidi was inspired to make this incredible gift come alive. Enough money was collected in just one week. We are so amazed how our friends and the community came together to make this happen. We will never be able to thank so many people that made this trip possible for us. We had an AMAZING time and little miracles happened all week long!

The other little miracle that took place is the birth of our last child, Justin William Fagan. Boy is he cute! Yep, he has red hair and is a little peace offering. The kids adore him and I don't think he will ever walk because he is held 80% of the time. He was born on March 3, 2009 weighing 7 pounds 11 ounces 21 1/2 inches long. So glad he came to our family.

Jaynie is now 4 years old and loves to entertain. We put her in dance class to use up some of that energy. She is in preschool this year and it is so good for her and Mom. Life will never be boring with Jaynie around.

Kayla is almost 11 and has great passion. This is her last year in elementary school and still the same size around her waist when she was in 3rd grade. She is still very active with Club Soccer and AAU Basketball. She wants to go to BYU Provo and play soccer and basketball. She got on the teams website and found that the girls who play her same position in basketball and soccer have HER same number, she believes it is a sign!!!

Jacqualine is 13 next week and Will doesn't want to talk about it... She wants to start wearing mascara and wear high heals to church and Will doesn't want to talk about it.... Mom thinks it is so much fun and lets go shopping! Jacqualine is a gift. She too is still involved in AAU basketball. This past year her buddies convinced her to play some softball and she had a blast. Then she played volleyball for her school and loved it and wants to continue that passion.

Now the man of our house is doing an amazing job with all his responsibilities and still has time to wake up at 4 in the morning on Black Friday to go get a 6 quart crock pot for $10. Besides coaching, being in the Bishopric, running two practices and meeting the demands of his wife and children he has scads of time....

As for me, I just want to be left alone to take care of my children and not have any other responsibilities. Wouldn't that be nice. I do know that, "When you are in the service of your fellow beings, you are only in the service of your God".

We hope you find joy and peace this time of year. We also hope that you take a few moments during this hectic holiday season to reflect on the importance of our Savior, Jesus Christ in your lives. Thanks for being apart of our lives. Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Well, it's time for our yearly update to the blogosphere. Once a year we attempt to be techno-savvy, but usually wind up begging for help from our friend and web-hoster Camron. We do hope that this note finds all of you happy and healthy. Angie told me today that after a 2 or 3 year hiatus, it was my turn to bore you all with our EXCITING life. Here goes.

In comparison to prior years, 2008 was pretty quiet. We began the year by leaving the two littlest ones, Karsten and Jaynie(best decision ever, by the way), home while Ang, Jacqualine, Kayla, and I cruised the Carribean on a Disney Cruise ship. We ended the year by deciding that we can wait awhile to plan another major trip like that. Reasons for that will be explained later in the blog. Needless to say, we had a blast. We went with our college buddies Jake and Allie and there three daughters who are about the same ages as Jacqualine and Kayla. We saw lots of sunshine and ate way too much food, but it was a wonderful break from the 174 inches of snow that fell in Coeur d'Alene last winter. Once the region thawed, we spent as much time on the water as possible. I'm discovering that I like summer much more than I do winter! The summers here are gorgeous, albeit short, so we pack as much into them as possible. We then migrated into fall which in our family consists of soccer, basketball, basketball and more basketball. So that's our year! Pretty boring! OK, I'll include a few more details to cure any insomniacs out there.

Jaynie, our youngest, is now three, but I make Angie constantly show me her birth certificate to prove that she's not really 13! We've had to severely limit Disney Channel exposure because (although it's hilarious to watch her play air guitar to the Jonas Bros) she has developed a Hannah Montana attitude. Earlier this year she had the thoughtfulness to thank Heavenly Father for her 'boobs' and was kind enough to ask her grandma if she liked hers. Being 3, she has grown out of discussing female anatomy and has moved on to rolling her eyes and making dad dress her barbies. At times I'm afraid to really know what's spinning around her little head. Life is never dull with mom's little clone around.

Karsten achieved a major milestone this year. His doctors decided to reduce his MRI follow-ups to every year. His remaining tumor has not changed in 4 1/2 years. They won't use the words 'remission' or 'cancer-free', but are constantly amazed at his progress. He started kindergarten in his sisters' school this year and loves it. He has a group of girls at school that make sure he doesn't want for anything. I hope he doesn't get too comfortable because we all know that that can never last! We did finally get him to stop announcing his entry into the classroom every day with a loud "I'M HERE!" Jacqualine's basketball coach and our good friend Rick made sure that the 'big studs' at school would look out for Karsten this year. It appears that his plan is working too well! He has become somewhat of a local celebrity. He can't walk the halls at school without being mobbed by all the kids wanting to say 'hi'. Angie organized a 'special-needs' Tball team this year and volunteered me to coach. It was an absolute blast. It was an awesome sight to see Karsten out there with his friends. We had a boy in a wheelchair, a boy with a sever seizure disorder, others with learning disabilities, not to mention some of Karsten's 'normal' friends. We love Karsten and even though he likes to fight with 'little Angie', are grateful for the lessons he teaches us.

Kayla is now a 4th grader and is doing well in school. Her first love, however, is sports. She finished club soccer in Octbober and is now playing AAU basketball in a very competitive Spokane league with her obnoxious father as coach. Her coach loves her attitude because she always puts forth her best effort and loves to share the ball with her teammates. (Something she did not learn from her dad) She'll spend hours out shooting in the backyard and drawing out the plays she learns at practice. Kayla is a wonderful big sister and loves to play with(tease) her two younger siblings. She has also become very competitive lately. (I know that comes from her dad, and with the red hair it's a recipe for aggression) She loves to challenge her big sister to flexing contests just like dad wages with the mirror every morning.

Jacqualine started middle school(6th grade) this year and I was amazed mom survived the horror of it all. She has an amazing group of friends that look out for her and make sure that no one gives her a hard time about the standards that she confidently upholds. She was asked out by a boy a couple of weeks ago and that sent shivers up her dad's spine. At least he wasn't cute, she might have said yes otherwise! I know Jacqualine better than that. She has a firm 'right and wrong' view of the world and has never compromised her standards. She will be 12 next week and move into the Young Women's organization at church. Jacqualine is also playing on an AAU team in the same competitive Spokane league as Kayla. She has a lot of fun with it and really works hard. In April, Jacqualine suffered a bout of appendicitis and had her appendix removed. She came home the next day after a seemingly successful surgery and was back in the hospital at the end of the week with multiple abcesses that had to be surgically drained. She wound up spending 9 days in the hopsital. She is fine now, but it took dad a few months to pay her medical bills. We'd like to send a special thank you to all her friends and family who helped her through that experience.

Angie has had her own share of medical issues this year. At about the time Jacqualine was testing the health care waters, they discovered a lump on Angie's thyroid. It appears to be benign, but that knowledge only came after lots of testing and biopsies. A couple months later, doctors discovered another kind of 'lump'. Angie is now 6 months pregnant with what appears to be a little boy. We were convinced for over a year that we were done and even sold everything. The Lord obviously has other plans. Don't get me wrong, this was not an 'oops' occurrence. Ever since Karsten was sick, Angie has had vivid dreams of another little boy coming to our family. Then, in early May, we both had very strong impressions at the same time in the same place that another boy was to come to our family. So we quit ignoring the impressions and have another child on the way! Angie's pregnancy so far has been quiet(minus the occasional vomit) and we are eagerly awaiting his arrival. Angie is still very active and is donating time to the local and state Junior Miss programs as well as newly serving as 2nd counselor in the Young Women's presidency at church.

Are you asleep yet? Let me see if I can tuck that blanket up around your shoulders and finish you off. I stay busy with running two practices with the help of my partner, Rob Johnson. I still serve in the bishopric in our ward and coach Kayla's basketball team. I stay just busy enough to keep the gray hair coming, but not so busy that I'm losing weight. I try to stay active but find that I'd rather spend my time chasing my family around.

I love my family and am very thankful for the support they are to me. We are truly blessed and are very aware of the Lord's hand in our lives. We appreciate each of you and want you to know that you have all had a wonderful impact in our lives. Thank you for the prayers and friendship and we hope that we can in some way return the kindness and love that you show to us. We wish you all happiness and the strength to keep your eyes pointed heavenward through whatever challenges you may be facing.

Tis 'the season to be Jolly!

We are so glad you are checking in with the Fagan Family update. We hope this time of year you remember all the many blessings in your lives as we do. Let us start out with the yougest to oldest....

Jaynie is 2 years old and is the mothers curse that my Mom and Dad were hoping I would someday get. The good thing is that I completely understand her and she makes all of us laugh. The bad thing is even is she is doing something she shouldnt be doing we all think it is quite cute. She is too smart for her own good and we have to be careful what we say around her. For example, she thanked her Father in Heaven one night for her 'boobs' and I told Will it was all his fault. She is a perfect ending to our family.

Karsten is now 5 years old and doing pretty dang good. Infact, at tumor board yesterday, Dr. Gruber, his neurosurgeon, said this is the best he has seen him look. The tumor has not grown in three years now and we think that succor is dead. He decided that since Jaynie walks by herself, he no longer needs his walker. So it was a big deal to go to school with out the use of his walker this year. Some of the Doctors said that he would probably always need some walking assistance. He has proved them wrong once again. He still falls down quite a bit and gets lots of new bruises, unfortunately he is used to it. Karsten is still attending Fernan developmental preschool and loves it. Mom hates Mondays because Karsten only goes to school Tuesday through Friday and he whines all day about going to school. He keeps real busy with Physical Therapy twice a week, Occupational Therapy twice a week and Speech Therapy twice a week. Mom also helps him with water therapy once a week. He is getting better with his speech and adapts pretty good to complete hearing loss in the right ear and moderate hearing loss in the left. He is starting to read lips now. Karsten started on the growth hormone shots early last spring and is finally starting to grow out of his pants that he could still wear for two years. We were pretty nervous on how he would handle the shots on a daily basis, so Will had a talk with him and told him that these shots are going to make him grow big and strong. So now every time we give him his shots he tells us thank you. Karsten also attended Cancer Day Camp for a week this past summer and had a blast. He looks forward to going next summer. The only bad thing right now with Karsten is that he still doesnt know how to eat solid food and after a recent swallowing study, it looks like that will be awhile. Karsten still knows how to make everyone feel good and cry when he gives a talk in Primary.

Kayla is 8 years old and was baptized last January. Kayla loves playing soccer and basketball and can read a book from cover to cover in just a few hours. Her basketball team is undefeated and will be palying up in the 4th grade league in January. She has gotten to be pretty competitve this year and we like seeing her being 'scrappy' on the court and soccer field. Kayla also plays the piano without complaining, even though it is not her favorite thing to do. She is such a cutey and fun to be around.

Jacqualine just turned 11 years old and is becoming a very pretty young lady and is now almot a head taller than her Grandma Pabst and wearing some of Moms shoes. Jacqualine is looking forward to going into the Young Womens oragnization... Where has the time gone! She too likes soccer and basketball. This is her second year playing on an AAU basketball team and is doing quite well and is very fun to watch. All her games are in Spokane this year to give the girls more competition. Jacqualine is a greet example to her friends and family. She is the one who reminds our family that is time for prayer and scripture reading. We appreciate her so much and would appreacite her even more if she WOULD practice her piano.

Angie believe or not still enjoys being at home with the kids. I keep threatening Will that I am going to come work for him when the kids are all grown. This past year I have had the opportunity to work with the local and state Jr. Miss scholarship programs. I am also trying to get back in to shape after four kids and really enjoying it, even it is only 20 minutes every other day. I am the chorister in Primary and Activity Day leader for the 8-10 year old girls at church. I have to admit when Will extended the call to me to serve in the Primary AGAIN (did I say that in my outside voice) I said to him...."You have got to be kidding me, you want me to do that AGAIN, I have already done that several times, are you sure!!!" I am glad to serve.

Will has a few more gray hairs on his head due to the fact that he brought on a partner, Dr. Rob Johnson (don't take that the wrong way Rob). Rob and Will opened up a second office in Postfalls. They are working real hard at getting the new office up and runing and they are doing a mighty fine job. Will is also coaching Kayla and Jacqualine's basketball teams and is the second counselor in the Bishopric... Yikes! Now you know the reason for the gray hair. He still finds time to play basketball three mornings a week and golfing when it is warm enough. We are so grateful for Will and his love and sacrafice he makes for our family. No matter how busy he is, he always makes time for his family and he has been blessed for it.

We hope this letter finds you all happy and healthy. When you get a free moment of peace and quiet, may you remember the reason for the season. We love you all. Thanks for reading and letting me blough, blough, BRAG. Until next year! Dont forget to check out our new pictures.

MERRY CHRISTMAS FRIENDS AND FAMILY

Happy Happy Holidays. We are glad you are tuning into the Fagan Family Update! It has been a great year and we hope yours has been too.

Let us start with our 1 year old, Jaynie Marie. Where do I begin.. Can you say little animal on two legs? She is sooo cute and soo spunky. She is a true red head through and through. She is a lot of fun and a lot of work. She is like a ping pong ball going every which way. You can't leave her alone for more than 10 seconds or she will fill up the toilet with tampons or string seran wrap all over the kitchen floor. Needless to say Mom drops her off at Grandma and Grandpas house A LOT to keep her sanity. We adore her and love her dearly. Jaynie is a wonderful addition to the family. Speaking of addition, we finished the house in April and we absolutely love it. We have room to grow now... No I am not pregnant and don't plan to be, Jaynie is a wonderful excuse to be done.

Karsten will be 5 in March. Knock on wood everyone, but it has been over a year since he has had a surgery. He is still attending a developmental preschool and loves it so much. His little mind is full of learning. We have been amazed at how much he knows. We have truly underestimated his mental capabilities. We know that if he could talk better, he could tell us so much more. He got a blue (his favorite color) hearing aid last March and loves it. With the help of speech therapy twice a week we know that he will be talking in sentences before long. Last summer we started alternating land and water physical therapy and he really enjoys it. Karsten can now walk across the room without the use of his walker. Starting the first of the year he will be taking growth hormones. A combination of radiation, surgeries, chemotherapy and medications have stunted his growth so in order for him to play in the NBA we thought we should start those growth hormones soon. I wish everyone could have a "taste" of Karsten (Mom likes to chew on his big cheeks) . When life gets a little out of control all you have to do is be in his presence and you realize, I CAN MAKE IT!

Kayla, sweet Kayla will be turning 8 the end of January. As many of you know, she has a very important decision to make and over Thanksgiving weekend she receved her answer that she would like to be baptized. As parents, you work so hard to teach your children correct priniciples and to make good choices on their own and when they do, you feel so good. We are so proud of her. Kayla loves soccer and likes basketball. She started piano this past summer and has really taken off with it. She is a big help with little brother and sister. The other day, Jaynie got into her room and made a mess of course; Kayla very sweetly took Jaynie back into her room to help her clean it up. What a good example.

I have a strong testimony that God knows of our needs and he knew that we needed Jacqualine first in our family. Do I need to say any more than that. Jacqualine just turned 10 and is looking so grown up it is scary to Will and me. She is very involved with many things and wants to excel in everything she does. She is playing on an AAU basketball team which takes up most of her time right now. As many of you know, Jacqualine is very quiet and when she gets on the court, Will says it is like she is trying to take something away from her sister. We are looking forward to Christmas break where she deserves some "down time".

Will and I are like most of you, BUSY! We are looking forward to our big trip from the Make-A- Wish foundation the end of January. They are sending our family on a Disney Cruise. Thank you to all that made this happen for our family. We are extremely excited.

Thank you for letting me brag about our family. One of lifes greatest blessings are our children. Thank you to you all for blessing our lives in one way or another. Have a wonderful Christmas and a fabulous New year.
